Course Description

Recommended Prior Learning

Students should have a sound ability in reading and writing. There is a need to be able to create solid paragraphs.


L2 Media Studies

Students work towards AS 91249 (internal), AS 91255 (internal) and AS 91248 (external) in this Semester and can gain seven credits.

Students will study the narrative conventions of a television series. They will explore the concept of target audiences, ratings and how the two go together. The semester finishes with an opportunity to gain University Entrance Writing Credits, by producing a written media text of their own.

AS 91249 Demonstrate understanding of narrative in media texts, internal, 4 credits

AS 91255 Write developed media text for a specific target audience (UE writing) internal, 3 credits

AS 91248 Demonstrate understanding of the relationship between a media product and its audience (UE reading and writing) external, 3 credits
