Horticulture Level 3

This Science-based course combines horticultural theory with practice. It is best suited to students who have an interest in Horticulture. You will be learning about plant processes, weed growth and control, carrying out a practical investigation and looking at profitability and plant processes.

Term 1
Research on a selected NZ primary product and factors affecting profitability
Creation of the report of factors affecting the profitability of the product
introduction of practical investigation work

Term 2
Carry out an investigation into an aspect of a New Zealand primary product or its production
Complete the writeup for the practical investigation
start research on knowledge of plant processes and plant life cycles

Term 3
complete knowledge of plant processes and plant life cycles assessment
start research to identify and describe weeds, and note methods of prevention and control

Term 4
complete the assessment to identify and describe weeds, and note methods of prevention and control
