Year 9 or 10 Technology Fabric and Design. Students who are very keen and wish to join this course will be considered on an individual basis. 

Fabric and Design Level 1

Technology: Fabric and Design is a course rich in ‘hands on’ practical work that is planned and supported by design and a portfolio of work. This course may include making basic pattern adaptations, construction of products from textile materials using basic procedures, brief development, planning, development and construction of a prototype (usually a garment but not restricted to that). It also offers an external assessment opportunity, making it eligible for course endorsement. Items created in this course are largely initiated through student design. 

Because this course can be constructed to meet the needs of individual learners, the number of credits offered may vary between individuals. A realistic number of credits for this course is 16.

Optional external standard 91053 Demonstrate understanding of design elements can also be offered and allow an enforcement from this class.
