Course Description

Level 3: Hair and Beauty Services
You will work in a practical based hairdressing salon and beauty spa, completing both hairdressing and beauty services. The environment will allow you to experience what it would be like in the industry. This will see you working with each other and clients to complete practical tasks and gain a better understanding of what it is like to be a beauty therapist or a hairdresser. Upon completion, you will gain skills in dressing long hair, shampooing, client consultation for make-up services, and learning the fundamentals of skin and nails.

Criteria: Students enrolled in the WTA must still attend secondary school and keep up with normal school work. The unit standards achieved at the WTA will count towards NCEA Level 1, 2, or 3.
Number of credits: 28
Duration of programme: 32 weeks, February to November
Programme structure: One day per week (8.30am-3pm) during the school term.
