Physical Education Level 1
Physical Education is a practical, hands on approach to learning about recreation, teamwork and how the human body works. Students challenge themselves to develop their physical abilities, identify and improve interpersonal skills as well as gain understanding of how the human body functions to improve performance. Physical Education engages and energizes students in authentic contexts in which to learn.
Please note that because 3 out of 4 standards in PED1 and LTM1 are the same, taiohi are not able to choose both PED1 and LTM1 together. They must choose one or the other.
Assessments:
AS90962 Participate actively in a variety of physical activities and explain factors that influence own participation
AS90963 Demonstrate understanding of the function of the body as it relates to the performance of physical activity
AS90964 Demonstrate quality movement in the performance of a physical activity
AS90966 Demonstrate interpersonal skills in a group and explain how these skills impact on others
