Te Reo Māori 101
Students will learn about the following; Te Kainga: Cultural practices in the home Te Kura: Everyday activities, practices and protocols, sports etc. associated with school Nga Hui: Maori gatherings, practices and protocol associated with the Marae Te Ao Taiohi: The teenage world. Organising and participating in leisure activities, communication using modern technology e.g. cell phones, e-mail, Facebook etc.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Language Perfect approx. $20 - optional but recommended.
Possibility of a trip to the Auckland Polynesian Festival approx. $25 (optional). Marae Trip approx. $50
Recommended Prior Learning
Highly recommend that students have completed Year 9 and Year 10 Te Reo Māori.
Total Credits Available: 30 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 12 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 18 credits.
