Learning Through Movement Level 1

LTM1 is similar to PED1 as 3 out of 4 standards are the same in each course. However, LTM1 differs from PED1 by offering 4 practical standards, whereas PED1 has 3 practical standards and 1 largely theory-based standard. LTM1 is designed for students who enjoy the practical components of Physical Education as the course is predominantly practical-based, with only a small amount of theory work in each standard to supplement the physical components.

Please note that because 3 out of 4 standards in PED1 and LTM1 are the same, taiohi are not able to choose both PED1 and LTM1 together. They must choose one or the other.

US505 Manage personal physical fitness with guidance

AS90962 Participate actively in a variety of physical activities and explain factors that influence own participation

AS90964 Demonstrate quality movement in the performance of a physical activity

AS90966 Demonstrate interpersonal skills in a group and explain how these skills impact on others

 

 

 

 

 




Course Overview

Term 1
Learn about muscles of the body, what static stretching is and how to use cardiovascular equipment

Term 2
Discuss reasons which enable people to participate in physical activity and how interpersonal skills also play role in influencing people

Perform a physical activity in an applied setting
