Design and Visual Communication 201
This course has a focus in two fields: product design and spatial design (architecture). A chosen design era will be used to influence the outcome of one of two briefs. More complex drawing skills, particularly in orthographic projection and perspective projection will be covered.
The briefs are likely to revolve around an investigation into a mobile living space or tiny home and an item for it; such as a BBQ, seating, kitchen unit.
AS 91342 Develop a Product Design (6 credits)
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
$10, Set square, paper and rendering equipment.
Recommended Prior Learning
At least 12 credits from Level 1 Graphics, or approval from the HOD.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
Total Credits Available: 19 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 10 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 9 credits.
Courses outlined will only be available in 2020 if sufficient students wish to take them AND appropriate staff are available to teach them. Courses that do not run may be offered through distance learning and be supported by the Distance Learning Department.
