Course Description

L2 French

Students can use language variably and effectively to express and justify their own ideas and opinions and support or challenge those of others.

They are able to use and identify linguistic and cultural forms that guide interpretation and enable them to respond critically to texts.

Topics covered include:

  1. Issues faced by young people in France and elsewhere: self identity, relationships, family and school problems

  2. French regions

  3. Future plans

  4. Health

  5. Technology

Recommended Prior Learning

Level 1, NCEA (14 Credits) -at least one external or at the discretion of the French teacher.

Assessment Information

A speech, a written portfolio, an optional interaction portfolio plus two external (listening comprehension and reading comprehension)


Courses outlined will only be available if sufficient students wish to take them AND appropriate staff are available to teach them. Courses that do not run may be offered through distance learning and be supported by the Distance Learning Department.
