Practical computing for school and the workplace, based on Unit Standards:
This course provides students with basic practical skills over a range of essential computer applications. These practical skills provide foundational knowledge that students can use to build up a Digital Capability portfolio. Students will have the opportunity to enhance learning across their other school subjects. Our programme can be adapted to individual student interests and needs.
Skills covered: Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Electronic Presentations, Website Creation, Image Manipulation and Creation.
Optional assessments may be offered where necessary.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
This course is approved for University Entrance.
Total Credits Available: 12 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 12 credits.
Courses outlined will only be available if sufficient students wish to take them AND appropriate staff are available to teach them. Courses that do not run may be offered through distance learning and be supported by the Distance Learning Department.
