Rangatahi Kaha Elevate

This program aims to provide emerging and established athletes with a controlled weekly training environment to support their physical ,mental preperation as athletes at Thames High school.  Rangatahi Kaha Elevate programme will be designed specifically for our students who are aspiring to progress within their sport pathway  (playing , coaching, managing, referee , medic )to help extend their skills and prepare them for their future endevours.  It will also have a focus for on nutrition, mental preparation, planing and implementing coaching sessions, overcoming and dealing with injuries, creating a postive sporting environment via communication pracitces. Our main goals are 1. Fostering stronger connections throughout our school community 2. Delivering quality experiences 3. Allowing All sports participants to have a pathway within their chosen field.

Level 3 U.S 30933 - Demonstrate exercise and stretching techniques (5 credits)

Level 3 A.S 91501 - Demonstrate quality of performance in an applied physical activity setting (Tough Guy & Gal Challenge) (4 credits)

U.S 22771 - Plan beginner level coaching sessions for sports participants (6 credits)

Recommended Prior Learning

Participates in Sport at Thames High School or our wider community. PED1 & PED2 would be an advantage with learning. Key attribute is a Passion for Sport and participation.

Assessment Information

All assessments are internally assessed. Achievement Standard 91501 Demonstrate quality of performance in an applied physical activity setting will have two assessment opportunities. First attempt will be the Tough Guy & Gal Challenge held in Term 2. Second attempt will be during Term 4 in class time with a sport of the students choice.
