Explore and find out about Aotearoa/New Zealand Histories, influential people and how we fit into the world.
Course Overview
Term 1
Whakapapa - Exploring pepeha, whakapapa, connections and identity.
Apartheid - The rise and fall of Apartheid in South Africa and how we as New Zealanders respond to human rights issues.
Term 2
Matariki - Exploring Matariki and the importance to us as New Zealanders.
Term 3
Aotearoa/New Zealand and the Pacific - Discover and explore the past relationships with our Pacific neighbour and how they have changed and strengthen over time.
Careers Exploration - this explores the pathways required for jobs and careers and supports the choices akonga will be making.
Term 4
Influential Wahine - Discovering extraordinary wahine from New Zealand history and explore how they have shaped and influenced the country we know today.
